Machines of Loving Grace, and the Italans
I was at a Peter Murphy concert in Phoenix Arizona on July 4th 1992, the opening act was Tucson Arizona's very own Machines of loving Grace. While Trent Reznor was pushing his Nine inch Nails whiny copycat re-branded trash off as industrial music, Machines of loving Grace were cutting out their little piece of the world with some seriously cool Industrial metal. I got hooked on them pretty quickly, and especially their song that was nice, mellow, acoustic with French horns. IT was called Cicciolina, which in Italian means, “Cuddly person” I recently learned. I went from 1992 till 2011 thinking what a great song, quoting philosophy etc in the song. Then I thought, the name must be of some Italian philosopher, Medici era or something. Then thinking more, I realized, no woman could have gotten away with it in that time, being a philosopher. So I went to Wikipedia with the name Cicciolina. Her name is Iona Staller, she is a modern day Italian philosopher, novelist, model, politician, and Pornstar. Yep, that's right, a smeggin porn star. She was elected to Italian parliament after having been in porn for ages. During the first gulf war, several journalists had been taken hostage by Saddam Hussein, and, Cicciolina took the lead for Italy, exercising her states-women's rights, offered to have sex with Saddam Hussein if he would release them. That is how the Italians are about it, more in your face than the French, celebrated, and... Sex is a tool for diplomacy I guess. Just laugh with me here everyone, they elect mafia kingpins to parliament.
Don't Buy Thai, (it's cheaper to rent) Japan and land-mines (finish this segment later)
Thailand has the worlds most exotic red light district, and people can go rent children for sex. I had a seminary teacher who served his mission in Thailand tell us about the red light district, and that there would be massive deaths once AIDS hit the country. In 1992 Rolling stone stated that the first 2000 prostitutes tested for AIDS, 1200 were found to be infected. I don't know why the country hasn't shut down by now after 21 years, but, sex is a commodity for sale in Bangkok.
The Philippines boasts a friendly sexuality world to almost everyone. The Social Moreys for homosexuality seem to have been lifted, and the parliament is having to deal with same sex marriage. The gay coalition there in the Philippines seems to be rather aggressive. My friend from there (who is a lesbian) told me they don't seem to have a public issue of it. It has a large gay culture, that no one talks about, being Catholic and all. Most of them are “Jack” Catholics I guess. Lots of prostitution, but, again, it's all “Not spoken”.
Lets attack Alfred Kinsey (Liam Neeson played him in a film, so 2nd reference taken care of ) right now, it seems proper enough at this point to do so. Alfred Kinsey was a biology professor at Indiana University. He started off as a bloke studying fly wasps, and really just enjoying being a scientist. He started studying human sexuality and put the conversation on the table. He interviewed thousands of people getting their sexual history and tried to establish patterns, as a scientist, it was about learning the answers. What he failed on, in his continual search of information on human sexuality was to establish a norm, or a baseline, and be able to explain sexuality from a scientific point of view after that. Something he was NEVER able to do, he managed to collect enough data about people, form certain opinions, and tell the world what he found from the data. He said some things that were so outrageous, it offended people. I will bag on Kinsey for a few things so lemme let those things fly. He was purely basing all of his research on the physical, pleasurable biological drive of sex. He left out emotions, and the reasoning behind a lot of it, without fully trying to understand those aspects of it, he saw mankind sexually as just animals. And was never going to get the full gist of it. He did some great things though, he put the conversation on the table, things were still taboo, but people were able to get answers, and for once, see they were not alone in their experience, and expression. Nothing was more of a paradigm shift in the US. if not the world, for everyone to be able to find out that, what they were never able to talk to anyone else about, they found, they were not alone in what they did. Sex has always been taboo to talk about, everyone knows its there, though no one ever goes deeply into it, in polite society. Though it has been part of every culture, no culture fully explored it, the norms were established, and everyone stuck with it, and never talked about it. So Suddenly Kinsey says some things, that are socially outrageous, but everyone who read it could relate to it somehow. The one thing he did say, that I agree with, you need to have bounds on your behaviours, but do not be ashamed of your sexuality. Strive to understand it, more than satisfy it. In understanding it, you will be able to satisfy it. From a scientific point of view, that is correct. Kinsey failed, and badly, landed splat on his face in one major point. We put emotion into sex, humans get jealous, territorial, and possessive when it comes to sexual partners. AND WE SHOULD.
Here is why. (and the biggest point of this paper, so pay attention.)
Sex is part of who you are, as a human being. It is the most base form of who you are, and everything you are emotionally is rooted and carried over somehow sexually. It is the most base form of expression of your emotions. It was when I was at Harvard, and another friend (a Mormon bloke Ill have to add) was getting his Psych degree at Harvard and was taking all kinds of classes covering human sexuality. He would give me his papers to read and go over them, as a layman, to see if a non psych major could understand them. I read through so many papers from this guy, I found it all fascinating, (and everyone else would too, though along with the social stigma here, would admit that they would find reading about human sexuality interesting. YOU ALL WOULD ). You would all find these papers interesting, because they were about sex, and you like sex, even if you don't understand it, socially, can't talk much about it, but you certainly like knowing about it and often doing it... What I learned in one paper was this, the human sexual expression is so basic, so pure, so raw, and it is the strongest form of any expression, more powerful than singing, dancing, painting, sculpting, or even fighting. You are sitting there trying to pass off your emotions, at some level of your thoughts, things you don't understand, but you are expressing yourself, without words, this is beyond that, that words don't have the ability to touch. It is built into you to be able to express this, and you will fail every time, you will get close but still fail every time. So you have to do this over and over again, trying forever to get it right and have fun getting there I hope, but still never get it perfect.
The most important point I learned in this research was this. You will find the absolute best, and the absolute worst of a person in their sexual expression. Why, because it is the best and worst of the person trying to be expressed in it. What does your sexual expression say about you? What does it say good and bad? What does it mean? How do you even get to the point to start to understand any of this, because its soooo taboo to talk about.
Something else I got from his papers, and you will find this in other peoples work, so I'll just lay it down here. When you are having a sexual experience (with another person), there are 4 channels of communication operating. I'll give you the basics of it here, but it's soooo much deeper, really it is, but we gotta start somewhere.
Physical. There is a physical component, you are getting your rocks off, that's what you are expressing at that level, a primeval normal physical need.
Mental, you are doing something, THINKING, you THINK you have something going on, and that you are expressing it physically. You are THINKING there is certain meaning, even if its just I'm getting my rocks off, you are thinking something.
Emotional, you are expressing feelings, you are presenting your deepest feelings what you are feeling and what is driving you to do what you do at that moment. In the most base level of expression, that's normally a very large part of it.
Spiritual. The spiritual component, is there and ever-present, however, you rarely tap into it, but when you do, the experience becomes sooo much more meaningful, spilling over into the other 3 channels. The spiritual component is where you are almost feeling like you are at the center of the universe, tapping the great creative source of love, light and energy, kinda like the scenes in the movie “The Fountain”. That's the kind of sex God wants you to be having BTW... Where you feel like you are standing next to in the thick of it. YEAH GIMME SOME OF THAT!!!!!!
In most cases, you never have the perfect balance between them all, one is usually manifesting itself stronger than the other, depending on your, mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional state.
Here is the kicker, no matter what you think you are expressing, what you think is going on, how you are feeling, etc. You will almost always fail in your expression. You will almost never get it right. Why? Because of the imbalance and lack of... Fully understanding, or expressing on all of them. Now, here is the hardest part to take in, though you might be able to understand, the better part of what you are doing and expressing, you are only doing YOUR part. There is this other intertwined apparatus, acting like a watch with a thousand sets of gears, and none of them fitting together to make it run properly, its called your partner is exactly the same way. Your partner is trying to express themselves on 4 different levels, and not able to do it completely either, so how can you think you are both on the same plane of metaphysical, spiritual, mental and emotional existence. So, why do you keep trying if you aren't going to get it right? You replay the same process, or whatever, thinking you will get a different outcome? NO YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS GOING TO BE AND YOU LOVE IT.... Just know, you are probably getting it wrong most of the time, and failing to fully express yourself. But you don't mind trying now do ya?
A quick note here, my surrogate father is a marriage counselor and sex therapist. He told me that you can, in fact, pull it off, and communicate everything perfectly in sexual expression, although those experiences are few, and far between, you can do it. It takes years of practice and communication and comes as a total surprise. He did say however, you are AWESOME for failing, and its fun, so keeps at it.
In reading My friend's papers, among the data I just threw at you, I learned about lots of cool, fun, and terribly interesting things. Here is one, why do some people like physical pain while having sex? Why do certain people like inflicting pain, or being put through pain when having sex? They are two VERY VERY different things here BTW... Some say its sick control issues, etc, or a person wanting to be dominated, for this reason, or that reason. I'll get to that later, here is the pure simple biological reason. Before that "Fifty Shades of Grey" came out, I knew this, and it was from reading this guys papers. (I'll leave him nameless, but he said I can share any of my ideas I got from him from all those years ago. ). It's for this one reason when a person is being threatened in a state of physical danger, the brain releases lots of endorphins, for the fight or flight idea. The body is preparing for physical damage, and the endorphins, are going to be able to block certain pain, well, not block it, but enable your senses to be heightened, to be ultra-sensitive, trying to match the pain you are feeling with the endorphins, that are pleasurable. This is to enable your ability to survive the trauma and escape... But if you are tied down, you can't really do that can you, so, it turns out, your brain is pumping you full of drugs, so the orgasm that finally hits in a state of pain, is going to be rather intense. That's the biological explanation. Wild isn't it.
That was something I learned in being a proofreader, FUN HUH?
Eyes are the window to the soul
My current point is this, if you exist, and possess cognitive thought, you are a sexual being, what you face is, how do I reconcile the expression of that, against the moral reasoning creature I believe myself to be. The answer I'm going to provide here is really simple. I DON'T KNOW. There you go. I learned this from a guy named Les Parrott, he taught something really cool about human sexuality. You are at a much higher level on the species ladder, for several reasons, it shows in your sexuality. Humans are the only critter that can copulate, face to face, EYE CONTACT.... Something the other critters don't do. You do this cause it's important, more important that you think. I have already said, your whole business is expression, and only part of it is physical, how much in your world is expressed, and exchanged, in eye contact? No words needed, you can see, and deliver so much, just by seeing the other person's eyes. Now, what are you doing when you are expressing yourself in the most basic way possible? Eye contact delivers more of it than you think.
More to the point, so much of you can and will be expressed in different ways. Unlike animals, you have so much of a dynamic in the physics of the matter. Let me give you some examples, Missionary, Doggy Style, 69, Spooning, Ride Em Cowgirl... The titles are as endless as the possibilities. Other creatures, its pretty generic, one position only, and one size fits all. As a human, with emotions behind it all, and reasoning on top of that, we have turned sex into something pretty knarly, and exploratory. Cause each position, or practice has a different meaning to it and changes the endless dynamic just enough each time, to continue in your failing efforts to express yourself. There is nothing wrong with failure in this case now is there, go forth, and fail endlessly, and enjoy it. CAUSE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO.
You were the product of sex, and DNA was passed on to you. Said DNA that I inherited dictates my eye color, height, build, strength, color blindness, and being bald. I got those things mixed up with my parents when they had a failed attempt to express themselves sexually to each other. Here is what happened, I got a nice load of good and bad things passed on from generations, things that caused imperfections, Hey my hair fell out, and I'm not especially tall. Somehow they managed to ensure survival good and bad traits, of my ancestors in France and Scotland, and BAMMMM, Here I am. That was nothing I had any control of, mom and dad didn't either, it's kind of a game of Russian roulette as far as what traits get passed down you just are against all likelihood able to have turned out, the chances of you being who you are as you are, are just astronomically impossible to dictate. Cool isn't it? You are exactly who you are, sharing traits with others you will never know from the same ancestors, but, never quite in your individual configuration.
From the biological standpoint, gees thanks mom and dad, I got arthritis at age 28 and lost my hair at a young age. I am lucky enough to have this knarly trait, I got the “Basque Eyes” its been pointed out by anyone who has spent time with Basques, they seem to be rather unique, and stand out. People know me, they know my eyes and will recognize me after 30 years, honestly, this has happened, because they all said, yeah, I remember your eyes. Thanks mom, I also got the trait of being obnoxiously hairy, something that Basques are known for too it seems. My daughters got my eyes, one even stronger than me, she could get put in south France, and look like she was born there. Good and bad, its who I am physically, and you too.
Here is the other side of it. Where your ancestors failed, not just your parents, but ancestors, going back further than you can imagine, the emotional and mental problems they had, all they were never able to manage to shed, got passed on , though everyone else the next generation , who failed to resolve it, and passed it on, to you. You are sitting there with the same DNA, and same emotional issues, and failures of your ancestors. Thank them for that, you are just as screwed as your ancestors were, who slaughtered protestants and tossed their bodies in the river, only later to realize they contaminated the city's water. Or my ancestors, who took Rome in a matter of a few days, when asked why they were there, said “All things belong to the brave”, but then gave up Rome shortly after that on a bribe.
Our parents were flawed, damaged, missing things, emotionally, and were all seeking to find solace, relief from whatever emotional or spiritual demons they had. It often plays out in sexuality, “What am I missing? Why am I not whole, or perfect?“. Somewhere in all of this, where your parents who raised you, were missing something, couldn't provide it, or express love properly, whatever it was, and you got the same bag of garbage, though probably repackaged, because mom and dad were different, and had their own versions of the flawed contributions to your life. I do hope they loved you, and you can forgive them for missing the boat on all of this, or any of this, because they didn't mean to, they were unable to , because of what they didn't get, and what they did get handed down to them. No family is perfect, or functional, everyone falls short.

Vienna, Chapter 1
So, these things happen during harsh adrenaline filled binges of manic productivity. I began on this one was on March 21 2013 round 3:30 am, having been woken up with a rainstorm, and only an hours worth of sleep, after a double dose of cortisone shots into my spine.
It was on September 9th, 1987, at Park West Utah. Those of us who remember this date, it was the End of Summer concert for that year. Gene Loves Jezebel, Echo & The Bunnymen, and New Order. Two of my favourite bands playing equal time on the same stage, life was perfect, for those few hours.
Somewhere in the set, Ian McCulloch takes the mic and says, “This song is about” then he backs off, and laughs. The Bassist, Les Pattison grabs the mic, and says, “What he means is, this song is about, SEX.... “ We all cheered, “Good Clean SEX”.. more roars from the crowd. “Mormon SEX”. Everyone erupted into screams, and then the Bunnymen, played Lips Like Sugar.
In 1998, I was backstage in Paris France to the Bunnygig. I asked Les about that evening, and why they brought Mormonism into it. Les and Will both told me about having gotten to know lots of Mormons in northern england. They said, they knew plenty of mormons, and had obviously gotten an earful of the teachings, and doctrines, etc. They pointed out, that though Mormons don't seem to talk about sex, or seem particularly active with the matter, they must be having tons of it behind the curtains because they certainly breed like bunnies. They had all just seen the film the 5th element, and I was christened by the Bunnymen, as “Houston Jones”. And such has been my name with the band ever since.
The point I got from the Bunnymen that evening is the point of this paper, though Mormons don't seem to talk about sex, pretend they don't engage in the act and say anything public about the matter is a sin, there is a whole mess of it going on, in your faith. Unless you listen to the Mormon leader, Jeffrey R Holland, he seems to be the only one, saying go off and have lots of good fun holy righteous sex. YES, THERE IS SUCH A THING.
I was up at 3 am, watching the video by Ultravox for the song Vienna. Midge Ure, very young in this one, shows you a beautiful scene, in Vienna Austria, no I have never been there, but Salzburg was incredible, and I'm sure it's like Germany, just more beautiful, and probably less functional, or German than Germany. I'll explain that bit later.
It was supposed to be written around the film The Third Man from 1948. The video shows the upper echelons of austrian society, being very beautiful, prim and proper, in tuxedos, Ball Gowns, military dress, etc, dressed to the nines, and covered with whatever illness you could imagine. People with spiders walking across their faces, horrible open scars, and decrepit facial illnesses, boils etc. One man was shown to have his hand removed, and was using a mechanical hand, to drink Champagne. This idea was presenting the idea of such beautiful people in beautiful surroundings, being corrupt, ill, and rotten to the marrow.
We will get to the rest of this point later.
Having dropped out of Harvard University, I can say that I have learned a lot, I am grateful for my education there. I thrived in my classes, Intro to metaphysics, was a great class, one I loved more than I thought I would. We covered Stephen J Gould, Daniel Dawkins, Dennett, everyone you could think of on the subjects of logic, and metaphysics. I had to write a paper, arguing Nagel and Gould, against the idea of the human intellect being, in fact, a piece to the evolution of mankind, or just a secondary attribute to the human evolution, more a piece of decoration. What I came down to was this, (in a few hundred pages.) If the human intellect was not necessary for the evolution of the species, it would have never happened or existed, according to Darwin. Darwin said every trait that a species has, was something to ensure its survival if it did not ensure its survival, it was left out and not carried on to the next phase of the evolution. In the case of Homo sapien, and any creature whose shoulders it manages to stand on, it would not have needed it, however, the fact that it had it, homo sapien managed to evolve past anything any other creature was able to do. In one word, the intellect passes on traits beyond the need for survival. The human intellect gave us reason, and the ability to learn, and carry things past the current generation. Culture, science, and the ability to conquer the environment.
True, other animals show signs of culture, Elephants, dolphins, and whales do. Elephants maintain a social structure, human like, they have a strange funeral ceremony when one dies, that they all take part in. They play pranks on people, and can as of recent, play music. Something also humanlike, if a young male is in a pack of the herd, and no older male around, he is very aggressive and does not know how to act. When an older male comes into the herd, the younger gets back in line, and learns how to behave. Dolphins play jokes and can talk to each other, and, are the only animal that has sex just for kicks. They will have sex, with no instinctual drive saying to do so, or to procreate, it's just for fun. Kangaroos are the only animal that will fight for kicks. They have no reason to fight, not for mating rights, or turf, it's just like two rednecks at a bar, “hey steve, yeah Walt, we haven't gotten in a fight for a few weeks, “ “Yeah, we haven't, “, Hey lets bash each other for a while, ….”.... “ok” ..
Kangaroos will also box with humans, and in every instance, the human losses. I mean watch it on youtube someday, Human boxes kangaroo, the man gets tamped every time. Which leads me to another point, the human intellect would indicate that because we can learn from our mistakes, carry a thought or experience over from generations, does not mean we are smart enough not to make it again. We just can remember it, and place it in time, unlike any other animal. Such is the basic gift of our intellect, we as a species fail to use it in its full potential and beauty. Douglas Adams said “For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.”
― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Liam Neeson was in a film called “The Grey” I watched it being fascinated with the story, but not sure of the species of wolf he was fighting. I learned a ridiculous amount of information about wolves when I was in elementary school. Like many, I had to read Julie of the wolves , (and in Cott O 'Dells "The island of the blue dolphins", though they didn't mention the pure coital nature of dolphins, I feel I was jipped later in life, but I did get the laughs when I went and got my beekeeping merit Badge... From Cecil Jacobson,... Look him up sometime, you will see he was a total DICK, and historically so. But he had to teach us all about bees). So, Wolves, I saw loads of movies about them, read lots of books about them, and saw them as a highly intelligent creature, whitty, and though they had not conquered their environment, they do show an ability to adapt, though, they only hold it within their own generation, and the stuff has to be re learned.. Instinct only goes so far, and in most other animals, so does the ability to learn and hold thought. Where the film The Grey fails, for me, was the fact that, well, I didn't know what species it was, it had the pack mentality down pretty well, though, I saw, a pack of 8, and I thought, what species does that? And they had them attacking humans, something that NEVER HAPPENS. The wolf is instinctually never gonna do that, not like in the film anyway. Wolves break pack at 7, the strongest takes 2 others with him, and the 4 split off with the 2nd strongest male. They will ALSO NEVER ATTACK ALONE, and they will never attack an animal, that they know is smarter than itself. Wolves for that reason avoid humans, and bears, etc. (bears are pretty smart, they LOVE TO DRINK BEER, hand it to them for that one.) There are a few instances, though VERY RARE that a wolf will attack humans, though in Australia, recently, they finally traced a dingo having snatched a newborn from a campsite. These are rare and very against the norm for these creatures, why? Because instinct tells them, here is how you do things, and nothing past that... I thought ok, these might be a Russian Grey species, it's obviously not Canis Lupus, that is all over in Alaska. Then I found out that the species in the film was HOLLYUS WOODIKUS...
We move on to for a moment, to many many years ago, when I was running an obstacle course, training for a position that would require dangerous situations. I was ready, healthy, and thinking I could take on the world. While I was running the course, I was making good time, when I heard a bullet whiz past me, I knew what it was, though I never had heard one fly like that, I heard the signature of the gun a half second later. I was being shot at, a bullet went past me, by a few feet, if it hit me, I would have been dead. I heard more shots fire, and I instinctively fell to the ground, and rolled to a concrete drainage pipe, and crawled over it, and tried to figure out where the bullets were flying from. I lost all things of logic, I was scared, and needed to survive, I got my bearings straight, and wanted to go kill something. I was shaking, but wanted to fight, this was not a flight move, I was wanting to do nothing but KILL, all that made me human had vanished, I was an animal then, and was so full of adrenaline, I think I could have picked up the concrete tunnel I was leaning up against. I managed to not piss myself, or panic, I was cool, calm, collected, and wanting to rip the guts out of a buffalo and eat them raw, It was a rather strange feeling. There were several of us who dropped and looked for cover. Others panicked, some froze, pissed themselves, whatever.
Later in the post-experience discussion, the drill instructor asked, “Who has the taste? “ I raised my hand, and a few other guys did. He asked “what does it taste like? “ One of the guys said, blood. He said “Good, you have tapped into the animal instinct”. He explained that our brains in that situation, secreted the taste of blood, to create an animalistic response, basic, primeval survival, going back to pure instinct. He explained we as humans are just a step removed from our emotionless ancestors. The Difference between us, and them is tremendous, emotions, rational thought, the ability to carry a thought past the need for immediate survival. But, remember where we came from. A quick p.s. to that story BTW, End of the evening, I was rock hard, and it was not going down, SOOOOO much adrenaline and testosterone had been flowing in my veins, I didn't know what was happening. I slept like a rock that night. But I probably could have just as easily had sex for 10 hours straight without the need of Viagra. I suppose you could use that as a natural male enhancement idea.
Instinct plays a part in each species ability to, as we in the LDS world believe, to fill the measure of its creation. On the last day of the creative periods, God created Man, and put something incredible into him, intellect. Something even greater in Eve, reasoning. When God parked both of them in the garden, he said be happy, be fruitful and multiply, dress this garden, take care of it, and oh yeah, don't eat those figs over there. (I personally think they were figs, cause FIGS ARE SOOO GOOOOOOD, they had to have been forbidden).
Oh yeah, To Fred Phelps, God HATES FIGS, not FAGS, you got it wrong bro. Kinda like the ten commandments, Thou Shalt Not kill, it was Thou Shalt Not wear Kilt. But I do, so... I suppose I'm going to hell for that..
Anyway, They were there for ages, and one day Eve thinks it over, she says, ADAM, the serpent told me this. WE are supposed to be fruitful and multiply, ….... UH HUH, says Adam, she says, do you know what that means? He says, No, …...
Do you know what all the other commandments Father gave us mean?" He said, "yes... except the first one, be fruitful and multiply." Eve said "What was the LAST one he gave us, ..? ?" Adam says, "Don't eat those figs..." She says "Ok, Adam, Do you plan on following all of his commandments?" He says "YES, all of them." "Even if I don't know what it means....?" Eve Said, "Well, Adam, I talked it over with the serpent, and, I sorted this out. Here it is, you are not following the first commandment he gave us. And you can't, till you break the last one he gave us. I have eaten one of the Figs, and I learned A LOT... First of all, I know how this first commandment works, my eyes are opened on this one, I get it. You don't. But by eating the figs, Im getting kicked out. AND YOU WILL REMAIN HERE, alone in this garden. I'm willing to take this one on, and you were told to stay with me... So you have to break one commandment, to keep others."
For a few moments, I think though Adam didn't fully understand what was going on, he knew one thing. He loved his father, he loved the garden, he loved all about his existence, but he couldn't reason fully till he ate the fruit of knowledge of good and evil. He understood one thing, when Eve left, it was no longer paradise. So he did it, he ate of the fruit, and was booted from paradise. There the problems began, there was a moment when the lord yells “ADAM, COME OUT HERE” and he stood naked before the lord, and he was embarrassed, and his cheeks were reddened, blood began to run in his veins, and he became mortal. Thus Adam Fell for love, as commanded to stay with Eve, the law of love is the blood of Eden, and every human being from that day has carried that in his veins. Humans inherit a lot of things, many are universal. For all of this, I cheer Eve on, a praise her for this... Blessed be that union. I will say that again later.
What we have managed to do with this great gift, is all stuck within certain paradigms we hang onto. Mankind will only use science that is acceptable to the social paradigm of its day. Tesla will prove that to you in your face a thousand times over. Hitler refused to develop an atomic bomb, because the headways into nuclear science at the time were by Niels Bohr, and Albert Einstein, both of whom were Jewish, and thus their physics were not to be used by the Germans. In that case, it was a good idea to ignore science on the part of the Germans. When the printing press was invented, it was vehemently fought against, by two groups of people, the people who could actually write.. They got jobs for writing letters for people, filling out forms for the illiterate, etc. A printing press would make the ability to learn to read and right available to everyone. They couldn't have that they would be out of work. (Just like the oil companies of today, if everyone started using TESLA cars... ) And the Catholic Church, they were against it out of superstitious reasons. They said, and I'm not kidding, IF you were to print a book or a word, in an evil book on that press, you could carry the evil spirit of that word or book, if you were to print at a later time, a holy book, like, the Bible. However, at that time the church didn't really want the Bible in major print anyway, for similar reasons, you can't have people go around reading the book now can you? You just tell people what it says, and keep them under your control. After much protest however, science moved forward, and the printing press added to the human intellect more than anything else in history of mankind. IT has managed to catapult development of the human species, because of the true expanse of the human intellect in just a few hundred years, than human beings have accomplished in thousands of years. To capture thought, for the masses, and preserve it, and pass it on, where no other animal has been able to do this, we as humans have done wondrous things. So, why do we still fail?
There are things that science will prove right now, but, the idea of accepting them, will fail based on the social paradigm, things people, can choose to hold onto, without knowing why. It is called tradition, or as we anarchists will call it …. Dogma. This is how most dogma happens. It's like this, in a Tibetan monastery, the chief abbot has a cat, as a pet. It's really aggressive and attacks everyone that walks past. So, they tie it to the tree in front of the house. One day, the Chief abbot falls ill, and dying, a new abbot comes in, and while going over the operations of the monastery, he says, “Make sure the cat stays tied to the tree”. He dies, but it's written down to do this. So, 111 years later, same monastery, same tree, several cats later. A monk asks the Abbot, “Why is there a cat tied to the tree”? The abbot says, “Because the cat is always tied to the tree.”
It carries over into more things than you would think. For instance, why is fog the reason police are called cops? Because in Old England, police would have a copper ring around their hats, and a copper badge, to reflect in the London fog, so you could see them. They started calling police Coppers, for the copper ring around their hats. And, then, they started shortening it to just “Cops”....
Baby boys were circumcised at eight days, regardless of what day of the week it was, the Jews would do it on the Sabbath if it fell on the eighth day of a little boys life. They still do, and bearing the mark of Israel is something they are proud of. In the New Testament, Jesus said in the end of Matthew, He that repents and is baptized will be saved in my father's kingdom. He that is not, the same is damned. Paul later said Let Circumcision be done away with in baptism. So, the early church trying to do what was right, took it on to baptize infants. It was easier to do it, when the method of doing it was adopted for Emperor Constantine, who decided to become a Christian on his deathbed. They poured water on his head, cause he couldn't leave his bed. It seemed to work, if good enough for the Roman Emperor, it was good enough for anyone. Thus, infant baptism was forged as the way to become Christian, till someone got a beef with the idea, and among other things, nailed a letter of sheer bitching on a church door.
So, do we really need to baptize a baby? NO.... So why do they still do it?
Do Police officers still have a copper ring around their hats? NO. So why do call them cops.
It's a simple answer BECAUSE THE CAT IS ALWAYS TIED TO THE TREE.....THATS WHY... WE refuse to give up certain things, regardless of how silly, and useless they are, that is where Darwin was wrong, we keep things unnecessary to our survival. That is not reasoning, that is us fighting against it. Like we are Saul, and the lord yells at him, “Why is it that you kick against the pricks” Why do we, in so many cases? Something about a cat being tied to a tree.
The ability to reason separates us humans from any other animal, our brains have allowed us through paradigms, to do wonderful things and terrible things. We have managed to create great works of art, architecture, music, science, cured horrible diseases. Where a common cold, or the flu were a death sentence, a hundred years ago, we see them as mere inconvenience today. No one dies from Polio anymore, and yet a hundred years ago, it was common. Today, we drink water, where in France science said you just didn't for hundreds of years. It had to be filtered through the ground and into the grapes, cause water had bacteria in it. They didn't know that they just knew if you drank it from the river (like the one the dumped all the bodies of the Protestants they butchered on ST Bartholomew's day) you got sick and died.
Now water is safe to drink, because people know how to prepare it. The same thing with pork among the Semitic tribes, not that it's an unholy animal, its just got to be prepared right, or you will get sick, and die. So, the french continue to drink wine in excess at times, and tribes of Abraham all decided to take a health warning, and make it religious not to do it, though science explains plenty against it.. But, the cat is.....
Somehow, reason, and the ability to do so, plays into religion, and you can't separate them. You have religion pushing you to reason, and at time mankind will reason against religion. And religion against reason.
At the same time, if you can see, even in the video for Vienna by Ultravox, there is true beauty out there, that mankind has been able to create. Because of the ability to keep though, and improve on it, where animals fail, we have done very well. Or have we. I will make the analysis here, of how several countries, in the recent years have fared , basing everything on the idea of all things man, and reason, or all religion, and a few in between.
At the time of communism coming to power in Russia, they purged themselves of all god, and punished people for believing in god. Not that religion was forbidden, it was just trashed and removed from the people. If you were to be baptised into the Russian Orthodox church, you were forever banned from becoming a member of the party. Party membership was treasured, it allowed for a better life. Communism in Russia tried to maintain a world where every citizen got the same thing, were provided for, and protected. In this process, the leadership propagandized everything against the humanities for the most part, and focused on science. Russia developed ways to provide for millions of people (after being starved out, and murdered by Stalin, and 20 million lost in the war with Germany) , but at the lowest common denominator. Also in the process, the country lost its soul, and a great deal of its ability to appreciate all the creative, and truly spirited, and spiritual things of the people. Russian art began to be nothing more than, promote the state, the individual was not important. Love, life, beauty, music, literature, all was focused on one thing if it was to succeed, the state, and its promotion. The KGB became the state security service, and people were subjected to all kinds of internal terrorism, murder etc. The people having been told there was no morality, unless it was for the increase of the state, and thus the people of the state on the whole, spiralled down into a state of corruption. The greatness of Tolstoy, or Dostoevsky, were left to the wayside, and trashed. Replaced with Lenin and Stalin, and Trotsky. Hopes of a better world without that which drives people to expand their world into greatness were eliminated by the communists, and replaced with the idea that you should be content with what the party gives you. don't get creative, that makes you think of a better, more beautiful life. Beyond the party, and its science, with no idea of real morality, the people were left in a vacuum of understand basic right and wrong. Thus Communism failed, and collapsed in on itself. This left the former countries in a terrible state of soul, the entire people, had failed. The depth of what people were capable of doing to each other to get just a little gain, is worse than anything you would have heard of in the book of mormon or sodom … People sold their children for pornographic ventures on the black market. They would murder anyone who got in the way of drug, or even worse human trafficking. Extortion and Mafia rule have become the rule of law in the former soviet republics. This is because they functioned without a god for so long, the decay had spread across generations. Anything that was left in russia that was precious and beautiful, was in existence prior to the communist rule.
Move on to Germany, a strange and wonderful place . They as a culture, are incredible, almost exactly what the Russians had tried to attain. They speak German there, which, believe it or not, plays a large role in how the country thinks and functions. German is a very functional language, it has its rules, and its logic. It is a language based on function, all things with the language operate on the function of the object at hand. Its thus full of adjectives, and things go on longer than needed, nouns are not nouns in the normal sense like in english, they are a collection of adjectives. An example of this in english, you have that thing that opens the garage door, it's called the “garage door opener.” You have the thing that you clip onto a can of peaches and turn it, it's called a “Can Opener” Those are a few things in english, that are called what they are by what they do, for the most part, in the english language, it's not like that, but just a noun as a noun as a noun. In German, it's mostly nouns, called what they are by their function. German, is so purely functional, once you learn to speak it, you can make up words, as long as the adjectives to said function are correct, you will have invented a word, that the germans can use and understand. For that, you can see why they operate the way they do, its very cerebral as a country. Engineering and science, all serve practicality, and functionality. Germany is a beautiful country, but the architecture is very different than other places in europe, because functionality is more important than the aesthetics. The general thought is like that, efficiency, function, and getting the job done. They work, they work hard, and are on the whole honest, solid people who stick to the social rules, that work around the language, and how you do things as a people,. The cat tied to the tree kind of thing is there, but they do get pretty progressive at times. Germany became the most powerful country in the world for a brief time, because it was easy for them to focus as a nation on something. Hitler turned them into the most efficient society in all of history, and focused them on something, and they damn near could have pulled it off except they failed on numbers alone. Not will or abilities. Germany was going to win the war if Hitler had ever played Risk as a kid or learned from Napoleon, you were not going to take Russia, ever...
The Philosophies to come out of germany were great, and powerful. Immanuel Kant for one, and many others, were built around solid reason and logic, it was how they were able to move so many ideas forward, built with the morality and reasoning together, Germany gave the world so many great things over the years. All of this being said, you could learn German from a book, and understand it, pronunciation is also something once learned, you could follow from the book and be fine to learn and speak it.
Germany for many reasons, is not a country filled with funny people. Not like the americans would see them as anyway. Socially you don't really, tell jokes, do funny things, pull pranks, because its not acceptable. They don't get heated much, freak out and start yelling, and passion is pretty watered down in the public behavior. An example of this, the French Canadian Trip Hop band Bran Van 3000 were playing a gig in Germany, broadcast on German TV. The band were very big on people getting on stage and dancing with them. Halfway through the gig, the singers all stopped, and threw it all down. Begging the people there watching to come on stage with them. They literally had to go and pull people from the audience, and you could tell that they were uncomfortable being on stage during a performance. Probably thinking they might get in the way or something. The French Canadians (much like the french) have a rather large comfort zone, measured in a few hundred meters. The Germans comfort zone is a few inches.watched them, and thought, OH HELL THIS IS JUST PAINFUL … IF you want to torture a soul,
I said many times, the worst thing in the world, is the game shows on German Television. I make them watch game shows on german TV, that will truly be evil and wrong, just brutal, I won't even describe them to you, just know, a german game show on tv, is tantamount to waterboarding.
Germans are very into doing the right thing. Whatever it is, if its the right logical thing to do, they do it. Thus jokes and generally goofy behaviour are not found in the morays there. Sexually Germany has a strange reputation, because they are so rigid as a people, the sexual outlet and expression found among the Germans is really scandalous. (not the right word here, that would be france). Though they don't generally have extramarital affairs. And the youth become sexually active at a young age. Rape and teen pregnancies and abortions are very low statistically. The Germans have this whole image of leather, bondage, whips, chains, masks, and physical abuse , along with other stuff I won't mention here. They boast being such a refined and in control of themselves society, they have a terribly extreme outlets allowed for sexual expression. Germany boasts the Reeperbahn in Hamburg, Europe's most sinful mile, (not kilometer). Its a mile long street in ST Pauli, with nothing but hookers, and sex shops. Women in windows half naked , waiting for customers. A dark, unmentionable but accepted side of Germany. The stuff you see there, you won't see in many other places in the world except Rotterdam or Amsterdam, or Copenhagen.
France, where they speak french, are based as a people on the language as well. The language plays such a large role in the general thought paradigm of the people you would have to laugh to compare them to the Germans. They do get heated, passionate, and let emotions fly a lot. Though the fists rarely fly. The language is based on beauty, and the logic of it, is based on beauty, poetry and the actual aesthetics of the sound. French in itself exists as an art form, and a piece of beauty. The French think they are sophisticated, because they speak french, as it is an art form, and rightly so. The Germans never once said their language was beautiful. However the function of france, is very different, the people take holidays all the time, close the office early refuse to open the door at the bank 45 mins to closing, even though the hours on the front door are stated. You can't get them to work as hard or as meticulous as the germans. The language plays a part in this, though they won't say so, it happens that way. The french will never follow rules if it's not convenient, the language has too many exceptions in it, and is difficult to learn the grammar. I speak it fluently, only because I learned from the people, never from books. French, and france has to be experienced, anyone who goes and experiences france, loves it. It becomes part of anyone who has done so. The function of the public services is dismal, sure its a beautiful country, boasting paris as a genuine perl, it is an incredible city. But the driving there is chaos, and the streets are dirty, filthy, garbage everywhere. The joke is if you walk through paris, you never get to look up and see the beauty, you are avoiding stepping in dog shit. It's everywhere, and no one really cares to clean up, they just flood the streets every morning, sending it all down into the sewers. The streets are very dangerous to drive on, narrow, and on the whole, french engineering, is nothing spectacular. (just look at their cars, compared to germans). Or anything else in france, the buildings are beautiful, everything looks great, really it does, but has no real attributes of being very functional, not like germany. What could get done in germany in a few hours or days, is months and years in france. It's just a different pace, and functionality as a culture. Something else about france, they are sexually very scandalous, life is all about the innuendo, but they are very big on sexual expression, unlike the germans. They are very into having affairs. When I lived there, I saw it everywhere, in my office, people had affairs with co workers. Everyone talked about it, and it seemed everyone I knew was doing it, it just seemed socially acceptable for everyone to just go have sex with whoever else consented to the matter. Like the language being spoken, the french were all about the pleasure of life. It didn't seem unusual for them to not fight the germans when they invaded, as, well, too much was at risk if they resisted. They look at violence and fighting as just lower ideas. The logic of the french philosophy was for the heart of man, as the individual to be happy, not so much for the group on the whole in many cases. Thus rallying behind a cause of a war, didnt roll so well with the french, many times. Now they see violence as something to avoid at all costs, cause it is just on the whole uncivilized. Which on the whole is funny when you analyse french film. Either the films are characteristically boring, where everyone is sitting around talking, or they are full of extreme , I mean completely over the top twisted violence. Aggression is taboo in france, if it's going to come to violence, but, sexual expression is not, no matter where it's going to lead to. Violence, is far worse than anything you would have gotten in Saving Private Ryan, in many french films, but they put it in a fantasy like setting, and go nuts. Sex for them is all real, in your face, and everywhere on TV. In France they have an obnoxious evening news, it's the normal evening news on the main tv station. They have comedic performances of the news stories, done with puppets. They have no problem throwing in jokes about oral sex, orgies spanking, you name it . And this is the 6 o'clock evening news .
To say either is right, or more moral between the germans as a culture, is impossible. For a reason I'm going to spill out here, and then circle back , the conclusion to all this cultural rambling will make more sense …. and soon.
